At Jabbok Counseling, we believe in creating a safe and nurturing environment for children to explore, challenge, and overcome the obstacles that are getting them stuck. We utilize toys in the healing therapy room to help facilitate change because play is the natural language of children. Playing offers options that do not require words, while inspiring creativity and offering help. With an understanding of child development and neuroscience, we want to help kids continue on their developmental journey successfully.
When children are struggling, initial appointments are scheduled for parents to freely share their concerns and assess stressors, developmental struggles, and potential events that may have been difficult for the child. After the first session, the parents and therapist consider treatment options together and decide how to proceed.

Adolescence is such an important time of growth and development. So many new challenges emerge as families attempt to understand all the changes that are occurring. Many families begin to struggle during this season of change in the life of a family.
At Jabbok Counseling we support both teens and their parents through the many unique challenges they face.
FOSTER/ ADOPTION
Many families experience challenges related to caring for children. We can help you manage the attachment challenges and developmental challenges related to adding to your family. Families may struggle with attachment, behavior problems, learning differences and children may struggle to receive the love that is being offered. These struggles are difficult to navigate alone and can often lead to feelings of isolation and fear for parents as well as family challenges.
