At Jabbok Counseling, we believe in creating a safe and nurturing environment for children to explore, challenge, and overcome the obstacles that are getting them stuck. We utilize toys in the healing therapy room to help facilitate change because play is the natural language of children. Play offers options that do not require words, while inspiring creativity and offering help. With an understanding of child development and neuroscience, we want to help kids continue on their developmental journey successfully.
When children are struggling, initial appointments are scheduled for parents to freely share their concerns and assess stressors, developmental struggles, and potential events that may have been difficult for the child. After the first session, the parents and therapist consider treatment options together and decide how to proceed.
